Welcome to The Mind and Body Coach. I am a qualified psychotherapist, counsellor, nutritionist, and personal body and mind performance coach with over 25 years of experience in the health and wellness industry. My unique approach integrates psychotherapy, counselling, nutrition coaching, and exercise prescription to help you achieve holistic well-being. With a warm, interpersonal manner and a deeply analytical mind, I work with clients from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction, bereavement, body dysmorphia, health and fitness challenges, phobias, and more.
My extensive training in nutrition and exercise, combined with my expertise in psychotherapy, allows me to address a wide range of concerns, from disordered eating and body image issues to midlife coaching and mental health challenges. My career began in various multi-disciplinary health clinics, where I worked as a physical therapist, trainer, and rehabilitator alongside Sports Medicine Doctors, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Dieticians, Podiatrists, and Sports Therapists. From an early age, I was passionate about understanding how the body works, studying anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics in depth. However, after over a decade in practice, I realised that my professional growth required more—I needed to understand the mental and emotional aspects of well-being.
This realisation led me to pursue further education in counselling and psychotherapy, where I developed a keen interest in psychoanalytic theory and the psychological drivers behind human behaviour. In my practice, I often encountered clients who, despite adhering to strict nutrition and exercise regimes, would revert to old habits during times of stress or emotional turmoil. This spurred my commitment to understanding and addressing the underlying psychological patterns that contribute to these behaviours.
Today, I specialise in a holistic approach that combines psychotherapy-led nutrition and exercise with a deep understanding of the mind-body connection. My goal is to empower clients to challenge their beliefs around body image, self-worth, and acceptance, helping them build resilience and confidence in their authentic selves.
